An outstanding opportunity to join ‘Team St Michael’s’ in the key role of Chief Finance Officer and Business Director and to be a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Leading on finance is the key element of the role, and the person appointed will need to have a strong track record in this area to enable them to meet the responsibilities of being the school’s Chief Finance Officer as defined in the Academies Financial Handbook. The Chief Finance Officer and Business Director will take a lead strategic role in planning, developing, organising and monitoring support staff and services in school in order to improve the learning experience and outcomes of our young people.

St Michael's Church of England High School is a co-educational, Church of England, secondary academy based in Chorley, Lancashire, for pupils aged 11-16. As a Church of England Academy within the Diocese of Blackburn, our values are rooted within the Christian faith.

St Michael's was founded in 1964 to provide a Christian education for the young people of Chorley.

They enter the school with standards that are above average and, by the end of their five years in the school, reach standards that are consistently and exceptionally high and make outstanding progress. The gap between girls’ and boys’ achievement is much narrower than that found nationally and there is no significant difference in the achievement of those who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities or of the very few pupils who speak English as an additional language."
