Options Autism are recruiting Children’s Night Care Workers to join our teams within the Shropshire region. Our Residential Children’s home provides specialist care for children & young people with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. This means that the Children we care for may be highly capable and need support to develop their day-to-day skills or you could be supporting children who have high sensory needs, feel uncomfortable in certain situations or be non- verbal. That’s why we’re looking for calm, conscientious and kind people who can take care of the nightly needs of the children– vital help that can transform their lives!
Each of our homes are within commutable distance from Ludlow, Hereford, Kidderminster, Worcester, and Shrewsbury. However, due to the remote location of the site and the needs of the role, a driving licence is essential.
The Role
As a Children’s Night Care Worker, you will work directly with vulnerable children with Autism and Learning Difficulties. Nightly tasks involve running night time routines, providing them with the care and support the children need to be happy and healthy. You will work with our multi-disciplinary team to contribute to individual Quality of Life Plans and provide a balanced programme of personal development focusing on social skills enabling the young people to achieve their full potential. You will also be responsible for completing relevant paperwork, undertaking household tasks, personal care and where appropriate, administering medication.
Your empathy and warmth are just what’s needed in this rewarding role, working as part of an incredible team of committed care workers to help vulnerable children and young people feel safe and secure as they build the skills they need for life.
You’ll be friendly, patient, kind and considerate as you help them learn, making sure they’re well looked after whenever they’re in our care. You’ll love giving them space to grow and thrive, playing your part in creating a nurturing environment in which they can fulfil their potential.
Great communication skills are essential, as you’ll be in close contact with the children you care for on a daily basis. In this role, warm and welcoming smiles really matter!
Who we’re looking for?
You’ll be excited to help vulnerable children and young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, playing an essential role as part of our care-giving team.
You’ll play a key role in the smooth-running of the site and you’ll have a good grasp of safeguarding responsibilities and safety and hygiene. This is a role in which attention to detail really counts – and one that touches the real lives of people every day.
