CHILDREN’S TEAM MANAGER (Non-teaching – Term Time only + 10 days)  

Salary: School Scale Point 28-32 pro-rata  starting point dependent on skills and experience £25463-£29055 pa FTE to be paid pro rata at £21486-£24517 pa                                                                Term Time - 37 hours per week:  8.00am - 4.00pm (Mon-Thurs) 8.00am – 3.30pm (Friday) 

We seek to appoint an organised and highly motivated Children’s Team Manager to join this popular and successful mixed secondary school.  Key skills will include the ability to: 

 • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and ICT skills 

 • Work successfully with the staff across the school and outside agencies 

• Work independently and as part of a team 

• Foster a strong sense of pride and commitment toward the young people in your care  

Key tasks for this varied role will include:  

• Liaising with staff across the school (including the House, SEN and Pupil Premium teams) to identify, prioritise and organise in-house and external agency support for students who need additional interventions  

• Managing our Horizon programme – an alternative learning course for KS3 students which coaches students to have the emotional skills to deal with everyday difficulties they may encounter.  Liaising with Directors of Learning, ADOLs and Horizon staff in the support and design of the programme.   

• Undertaking regular training to support your role as Safeguarding Officer, enabling you to contribute to the safeguarding policy and practices of the school and to deliver staff training 

• Undertaking day to day investigations as required, and maintaining Child Protection records  

• Undertaking detailed data analysis to identify students who need interventions as outlined above and to evaluate the impact of all student interventions put in place

About The Thomas Aveling School

The Thomas Aveling School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Rochester, Kent. It is an academy converter supported by a multi-academy trust called Fort Pitt Thomas Aveling Academies Trust, which supports four other schools around the country. The school will provide 1,080 places for secondary and sixth-form students between the ages of 11 and 18 when fully subscribed.

Previously a Technology College and Training School, Thomas Aveling converted to an academy in September 2011.
