We are now seeking a dynamic and industry-experienced Lecturer in Civil Engineering to deliver inspiring, real-world learning to apprentices and T Level students at our Truro campus.

This post offers a unique opportunity to work as a dual professional combining your expertise as a civil engineering practitioner with the opportunity to develop the next generation of engineers through high-quality teaching and training.

You will maintain strong links with industry, ensuring learning remains current, relevant and aligned to real-world practice, while supporting apprentices and students to develop the technical skills, professional behaviours and problem-solving capabilities required by modern civil engineering employers.The

Role

You’ll play a key role in delivering:

  • Level 3 Civil Engineering Apprenticeships

  • T Levels in Design, Surveying and Planning

  • Specialist bootcamps in digital construction and construction management

You’ll also contribute to curriculum innovation, help develop higher-level provision, and work closely with employers to ensure our learners gain the technical skills and professional behaviours they need to thrive.

About You

You’ll bring:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline)

  • Relevant industry experience

  • Strong mathematical and technical knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to make complex ideas accessible

A teaching qualification is desirable, but we welcome applications from industry professionals willing to train as a lecturer.

Most importantly, you’ll be motivated by supporting learners, embracing innovation, and working as part of a collaborative, high-performing team.
