Job overview

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the position of Class teacher with St John Chrysostom Federation. This is a great time to join our successful team.

Both of our schools are long established and situated in the heart of the local community and close to Manchester University and the Manchester Royal Infirmary. We value the support of both the Manchester Diocese and Manchester City Local Authority. Each school is unique within our Federation although staff do meet each term for training events and to share good practice.

Our school leaders continue to work hard to foster a culture of learning amongst our staff team and we pride ourselves on the quality training and support of new teachers to our federation.

‘Leaders have worked with staff to develop and deliver an ambitious, well-structured curriculum. It meets the needs of all pupils…’ St. Chrysostom’s OFSTED Report 2022.

Our recent positive SAT results in 2022 showed again just how much effort our staff have invested in our effective catch-up curriculum to ensure our pupils were well prepared for High School.

We are willing to award teaching and learning responsibility points if any candidates are willing to lead a year group or school project. These are typically awarded for one year minimum but can be extended for the right candidate. This can be discussed in more detail by calling Jen Kelly or alternatively at interview.

Please state personal curriculum leadership experience and strengths in your letter of application.

Our staff teams come from a wide range of backgrounds but we are united in our belief that Manchester is a great place to live and work. With events, facilities and attractions to suit every lifestyle, Manchester is lively and culturally diverse. If you are ready for your next step and want to work in a dynamic team please do apply.

Please call Jennifer Kelly (HR Manager) to have an informal discussion about the role.

Thanks again for expressing an interest in this exciting new post.

Yours sincerely

G. F. Elswood
