Duncombe Primary School is looking to appoint a highly skilled class teacher. Are you a dedicated and energetic individual? Are you creative, innovative, with a strong commitment to inclusion and the ability to inspire and motivate pupils? We are looking to appoint a highly skilled class teacher, who is committed to high standards of achievement and behaviour for all children. Experience in an inner-city setting is desirable, as is the ability to teach in KS1 or KS2.

Duncombe is a very happy, thriving school; graded as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted in November 2017. The children are at the heart of everything that we do and every decision that we make. The school's new leadership team, new governing body and staff team work collegially and we have extremely high expectations for the children and of the children.  As a teacher at Duncombe, you will work hard to bridge the gap between advantage and disadvantage and ensure that every child reaches their full potential.

Duncombe’s ethos is ASPIRE, we want to encourage ambition, self-esteem, perseverance, independence, resilience and enthusiasm as characteristics in all our children. We believe that these soft-skills, combined with a rigorous, knowledge-based curriculum, will prepare our children for secondary school and beyond.

As Maths lead you will develop on the outstanding work of our AHT, who has ensured that the provision at Duncombe means every child will excel mathematically. Duncombe is an exceptionally well-resourced school that makes leading on maths exciting due to the vast possibilities you can create for the children.

You will need to have excellent subject knowledge of how mathematical understanding is developed from the Early Years through to the end of Key Stage Two. You will be motivated to read the latest research and theory on teaching maths in order to inform staff members.  In conjunction with the AHT, you will plan engaging, research informed staff training for teachers and teaching assistants on the planning, teaching and assessment of maths across the school.

You will be an advocate for the concrete, pictorial and abstract approach and have a positive, growth mind-set ensuring that all children make the best possible progress, whatever their need or background.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and you should contact the school business manager, Monique Roberts (moniqueroberts@duncombeprimary.co.uk or 02072725620) to make an appointment for a tour.

Closing Date: Friday 23rd April 2021

Shortlisting Date: Monday 26th April 2021

Interview Date: Friday 30th April 2021

Duncombe Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) with barred list check will be required. Also, if this post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations and the successful applicant will be required to declare.
