Job overview

Colindale Primary school is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated class teacher to join our established, friendly team from September 2024. This position would be ideal for an early career teacher, or alternatively, if you are looking for a new challenge in order to continue your career progression, then we would love to hear from you.

We are a large 3 form entry, multi-cultural primary school in the heart of Colindale in North London, with our own indoor swimming pool, with our own extensive outdoor spaces including an all-weather field, a pond, a wooded area and ball courts. We have a provision for 2–3-year-olds, a nursery for 3-4-year-olds, as well as an additional resource base for pupils with physical disabilities, who are fully integrated into classes across the school. We have our own car park and are close to local transport links, including London Underground, with easy access to Central London.

Our modern, well-resourced school building reflects our ambition to work creatively to build a better future for all our pupils, our parents and our staff. We value close team-work and collaborative working practices and have strong senior and middle leadership teams who provide staff with support in all aspects of the curriculum and school life. Our strong emphasis on professional development, shared leadership and innovation are at the heart of what we do.

Our children are well behaved, polite and respectful towards each other. They are motivated in their learning and have good relationships and high aspirations. Parents are supportive and keen to work with the school to enhance their children’s learning and achievement.

We are committed to protecting and promoting children’s rights and our commitment to this has been recognised by UNICEF in their Rights Respecting School Award. Our Rainbow Values are at the heart of who we are and create a positive environment in which both children and staff strive to be the very best they can be.

At Colindale Primary School we believe in the well-being of all our staff and pupils alike which includes staff having access to our own indoor swimming pool.

About Colindale Primary School

A warm welcome to Colindale School – a very special community – a place where we believe that our core purpose is to develop lifelong learners and transform lives.

We all work hard to provide a safe, happy and responsible environment in which everyone can learn, flourish, reach their potential, and be valued as an individual. Our school is a place where we share and celebrate our cultures, languages and faiths in harmony with each other.  We have children from many different cultures speaking over 40 different languages.

When children leave Colindale School, we want them to do so with confidence and with an awareness and understanding of the world so that they can work positively towards a better future for all. To achieve this for our children staff work closely in partnership, offering support and challenge to each other. We also work closely with Parents and Carers.

Throughout the year there are regular meetings with parents to exchange information.  There are also other opportunities such as sports days and assemblies for them to be involved in their child’s education.  We want to make the most of these opportunities to build good relationships and partnerships between parents and the school.

Please come and see for yourself what Colindale Primary School has to offer children.  Like other visitors you will notice the warmth, the calm working atmosphere, the skilled teaching designed to meet the needs of every individual child and the friendly confidence of the children as they learn in a stimulating and caring environment.
