We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person committed to developing pupil potential. To join our staff as a Class Teacher. You will be a strong team player who will contribute to the wider life of the school, have excellent communication skills and be able to work positively with children and staff.  As a Class Teacher, you will play a key role delivering challenging and well-organised lessons, teaching with expertise and enthusiasm and using an appropriate range of strategies and resources. We are looking for creative candidates who will make a big impact in the life and learning environment of the school.


The position would ideally suit someone who is calm and patient with the ability to inspire and motivate children. Applicants must be an exceptional KS1 or KS2 classroom teacher who will inspire and motivate our learners. Flexibility to accompany trips is essential, especially in KS2 where you will participate in residential trips.

The Swaminarayan School was established in Neasden, north-west London, in 1992 by Pramukh Swami Maharaj for children aged between two and 18. There are 260 boys and 234 girls currently enrolled. The school is split into two sections: the preparatory school, for children aged two to 11; and the senior school, for those up to 18. Swaminarayan School teaches through the Hindu faith.

Values and vision

The aim of The Swaminarayan School is to educate children through the values of the Hindu faith and culture. It hopes to encourage pupils to become lifelong learners, as well as raising academic standards and helping them to develop into respectful members of the community. 

When the school was founded, Pramukh Swami Maharaj wanted children attending the school to be taught to an exceptional standard, in order for them to achieve outstanding achievements in their lives. Teachers encourage children to take part in extra-curricular activities, including performing arts. The school believes in creating relationships with parents, Mandir and the community as a whole.
