Job overview

Early Years in Dulwich College Beijing (DCB) prides itself on its child-centered, holistic approach for all children. We are able to do this by offering small class sizes of 22 children or less, a very high teacher to pupil ratio and very generous support for a range of abilities. Assistant Teachers are of a very high standard and are all bilingual. Children in our school have a thirst for learning and behaviour is exemplary. Teachers have a very generous amount of planning and preparation time.  The Early Years learning spaces were newly built in 2018, and feature a natural look in all areas. We have two new outside learning spaces and most classes offer flexible, individual class or unit space options, according to need. When you visit our Early Years campuses at DCB you will see children highly engaged and learning actively through problem-solving and creative thinking. All classes have interactive whiteboards, iPads and laptops, with MacBooks for teachers. Our assessment tools include Seesaw for Key Stage One and the Foundation Stage. Posts of responsibility, carrying stipends, may be available. New appointees can apply for these, soon after they arrive at DCB.

Because students come first

Established in 2005 DCB is a modern, impressive College, home to children aged 3 to 18 and is accredited by ISI, HMC, IB, CIS and WASC and regularly reviewed by Dulwich College London and Dulwich International. The College comprises three schools, each with its own Head Teacher for Early Years, Junior School and Senior School. We offer EYFS in the Foundation Stage, an enhanced English National Curriculum in Key Stage 1, 2 and 3, I/GCSE’s and the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

Join our dynamic and aspirational learning and teaching environment and a thriving, supportive community, where teachers are encouraged to innovate and students strive to push boundaries and achieve their personal best. Students at DCB are respectful, highly motivated and rightly ambitious. Our academic success speaks for itself, with 78% of our students achieving A-A* I/GCSE grades and our IBDP students achieving a 37.9 grade point average score in 2019. In 2018 we were awarded the Creativity in Learning Award, International School Awards. But this is only part of the DCB story. Whilst we are proud of our excellent academic reputation, it is our pastoral care, broad range of enrichment opportunities (many led by students) service and community links, which set us apart. Visitors to DCB regularly comment on the friendly atmosphere and positive energy of all who learn and work here. All staff contribute to our extensive extra-curricular and enrichment programmes.

Facilities at DCB are world class and include SE21, a Technology hub designed around F1 driving our development of enterprise and innovation with film and recording studio, two theatres and black box teaching spaces, sports domes, Sports Hall, playing fields, tennis courts and pool. DCB is a wireless campus supporting our laptop 1:1 programme from Year 5. All teaching staff are provided with laptops.

We invest in our people and excellent professional learning opportunities are available at DCB and through programmes developed by Dulwich College International. Staff have the opportunity to connect with other likeminded professionals across our colleges and accelerate their leadership. Many opportunities are offered, which support and challenge our teachers and leaders to develop best practice.
