We are looking for a nursery teacher who is:       

·      A person who has a genuine passion for early childhood development.

·      Able and support children to become active, independent thinkers and curious learners.

·      Able to understand and be sensitive to the needs of every child.

·      Committed to high standards of teaching and classroom practice.

·      Able to work effectively as part of a team and establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, governors, and staff.   

 

The successful candidate will work in our Pioneer classroom (3-5 years old).

About Kate Greenaway Nursery School and Children’s Centre

Kate Greenaway started as a small nursery school in 1959. We’ve now expanded to include a 54 place nursery for children from six months to five years old. We’re open all year round from 8am to 6pm. We also have a lively community service including family support and a programme of groups and events for local families. We work closely with a wide range of other professionals including health visitors, speech and language therapy, clinical psychology and children’s social care.

What’s special about us?

We are proud of our innovative and inclusive practice and our history of working with children and families from richly diverse backgrounds and with multiple needs.

We have;

  • A large and thoughtfully designed outdoor environment
  • An experienced and sensitive staff team
  • A child psychotherapy service (Art Therapy) based onsite
  • An active curriculum based on play and first hand exploration
  • A ‘forest school’ programme based at a local nature reserve in Kings Cross
