Job overview

St Martin's RC Primary School serves the needs of Roman Catholic and non-denominational pupils in Tranent and surrounding areas. St Martin's is a single storey building set in extensive grounds. There are seven classes from P1 - P7 and a Nursery class. There is a dining room and a gym/assembly hall and a library system running in the school with the support of parent helpers. A co-operative framework of support from home, school and Church surrounds our children.

As well as being committed to ensuring every child receives a high quality education and achieves the highest possible standard of achievement. St Martin's is also committed to celebrating success and working with the wider community. Pupils throughout the whole school are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and behaviour and are active participants in the decision making process. The school encourages all staff and pupils to be leaders of learning through the school improvement plan and many new co-ordinator roles have been recently established.

St Martin's has an active Parent Council and parents are actively encouraged to participate in all aspects of school life.

St Martin's currently offers a wide range of after school clubs including football, guitar and home learning.
