Job overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the ELP Phase Leader at Kensington Avenue Primary School. The successful candidate will have a passion for education and a strong commitment to maintaining the positive ethos and core values of our school, both inside and outside the classroom.

As the ELP Phase Leader, you will have Teaching and Learning Responsibility for leading all aspects of the Curriculum within the ELP. You will be accountable for ensuring the highest standards of children's achievement, and will play a key role in shaping their educational journey.

Here are some key responsibilities of the role:

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day timetabling for the pupils and staff within the ELP, as well as ensuring inclusion takes place across the school.
  • Be actively involved in placement planning for the Reception cohort annually by undertaking a review of applications and gathering evidence.
  • Support ELP consultations, ensuring effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure learning plans are well-matched to pupils' needs and effectively implemented.
  • Lead on risk assessments and the approach to behaviour management.
  • Ensure effective communication with parents, fostering strong partnerships with home.
  • Facilitate the engagement of the ELP in whole school events and routines.
  • Take a lead role in EHCP reviews, working closely with external agencies and professionals.
  • Support the induction of pupils into the ELP and their transition to the next stage of learning.
