West Ashton Church of England (V.A.) Primary School is looking to appoint a dedicated EYFS Class Teacher to join its friendly team, with effect from September 2024. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT to join a thriving school, where all are valued and celebrated.

Please note: This is a part time (0.5fte), fixed term (one year) contract

Located in the beautiful village of West Ashton, just outside the county town of Trowbridge, Wiltshire, we are an ambitious and friendly school, educating children between the ages of 3 and 11 years. Our school community works together to develop our vision and Christian values (hope, wisdom, agape, friendship, thankfulness and koinonia), which are at the heart of our school and underpin all we do. Our goal is to give each pupil a thirst for learning, which continues with them throughout their life. In November 2023, we received a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in all areas and were praised for being a fully inclusive school where everyone is respectful and demonstrate positive attitudes to learning. We are part of Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to improve local education and draw on collective experience.

We are looking for someone who:  

  • Is committed to becoming a truly excellent teacher;
  • Can teach a broad range of engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and improve student attainment;
  • Can plan and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and students make superior progress;
  • Is able to raise attainment and challenge students to achieve their best;
  • Has a commitment to extra-curricular activities;
  • Is aware of current initiatives in the within EYFS;
  • Is an effective team member who can contribute positively to the work in EYFS and our school;
  • Has a positive, cheerful outlook with a good sense of humour;
  • Is able to forge good relationships with students and staff;
  • Is able to work hard and remain calm under pressure;
  • Has a desire to work within the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) structure.

West Ashton Church of England (V.A.) Primary School, located in the beautiful county town of West Ashton, Wiltshire, is an ambitious and friendly primary school, educating children between the ages of 3 and 11 years.
