If you really want to make your mark in a rapidly growing business that is committed to improving the lives of children and young people, we have the role for you!

We now have a fantastic opportunity for an Early Years Teacher to join Medway Green School. If you are looking to join a new, highly dedicated team in a challenging and rewarding environment, we would love to hear from you!

About the Role:

You will be responsible for planning and delivering an Early Years curriculum to students up to 6 years of age. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives. Our aim is to change young people’s lives and we will always provide our pupils with the best possible opportunities to succeed beyond Medway Green School.  You will be enthusiastic, able to work effectively as part of a team and dedicated to making a difference to improving the lives of the young people that we support. The start date for this fantastic opportunity is April 2020.

About the School:

Medway Green School are looking for an Early Years Teacher to join our brand new team so that we can develop and grow the new independent special educational needs provision in Wouldham, Kent. The school, when full, will facilitate up to 46 pupils aged 5-14 with a wide range of behavioural, social and emotional needs including ASC. The school site is currently going through significant refurbishment and comprises of two buildings – an 1870 traditional red brick Victorian school house and a modern classroom block. The site also extends onto 4 acres of surrounding land including adjacent playing fields.

About the Group:

We are part of Acorn Care and Education and can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career.

We provide Education and Care across a number of schools and residential homes nationally. Our specialist SEN provision, coupled with our expertise within residential care means we offer thousands of vulnerable children and young people across the UK a holistic, wraparound care, residential and education service, empowering them with everything they need to flourish. It is by no accident that 94% of our homes are rated as Outstanding or Good.

We welcome staff who share our commitment to help children experience better days and better lives. Through ongoing development and training, we ensure our staff are well prepared for their jobs and given every opportunity to extend their skills.

Acorn Care and Education is part of the Outcomes First Group.

Who are we looking for?

Just as important as academic achievement is the social & emotional development of our pupils. We want our pupils to be successful citizens and positively contribute to their local communities, it will therefore be imperative to provide opportunities to advance these skills. Along with this, the use of personalised curriculums and positive reinforcement will underpin your everyday practice.

This can be a challenging environment and therefore, determination and resiliency are key characteristics for the post. We are seeking an experienced teacher with an understanding of SEMH and ASD, allowing the successful candidate to immediately form positive relationships and adapt to the needs of the pupils. However, we invest heavily in teacher development and want staff who endeavour to achieve more.  Applications are welcome from teachers with special needs or mainstream backgrounds.

If you are passionate about this truly unique and rewarding sector and have the energy, drive and desire to motivate our pupils and ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes, then we welcome your application.

The position is due to commence April 2020 (subject to approved reference/DBS checks).

If you have any further queries regarding how to apply please contact The School Administrator, Jade Hallett on 01634 968420 or email us at
