Values and vision

Parkside Primary School wants all children to receive an enriching education in a stimulating, secure and nurturing environment. It encourages pupils to take responsibility for themselves and their learning. The school celebrates the diverse cultures and beliefs in the community and teaches pupils to be respectful and caring of others.

Teachers aim for students to leave with a positive self-image and high self-esteem, allowing them to grow as confident individuals in the next stage of their education. Discrimination is not tolerated and everyone is treated equally, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation or disability.

Healthy eating is promoted through the school's Breakfast Club, while a variety of extra-curricular activities ranging from sports to performing arts are organised to foster new interests. Children are encouraged to become engaged as citizens through an active school council, where elected members of each year group represent the views of their fellow students.

Ofsted report

“Pupils feel safe and secure. They are very clear that should bullying occur it is dealt with speedily by the staff. Pupils relish the opportunity to take responsibility around the school in roles such as school councillors and play leaders. They are enthusiastic about the changes that they have suggested which have been implemented, for example new play equipment in the junior playground”.
