Job overview

Windmill Primary Church of England Primary School

Year 4 Class Teacher

Role: Class Teacher Year 4  To commence 1st September 2017 and is on a fixed term basis for one academic year, subject to the future budgetary provision or the operational needs of the school.

Our successful Church of England School is looking for a passionate, committed Teacher with great enthusiasm and energy to join our team. You will be ambitious for our children and know that teaching is all about encouraging a genuine love of learning and creating a stimulating, warm environment in which every pupil can develop both academically and socially. We require a teacher who can listen, question, be responsive and remember that every pupil and class is different.

Our teachers benefit from tailored support, targeted professional development opportunities and the chance to work in a friendly and collaborative learning community. Here’s what our staff say about working here: 

  • “I am very proud to work at Windmill CE Primary and feel privileged to work with such a hard-working, dedicated team.”

Our school opened in April 2014 and has gone from strength to strength since that time. We recently had an OFSTED inspection which judged our school to be ‘GOOD’ with ‘OUTSTANDING personal development, behaviour and welfare. In November 2016 we were judged as ‘OUTSTANDING’ in a SIAMs inspection. We are highly ambitious for our children and school. We seek a committed professional to work with us as we become a truly outstanding place of learning.

  • The headteacher and governors have developed a strong sense of purpose among all staff and morale is high. They have been very successful in developing the quality of teaching to make sure that pupils’ learning and outcomes are good. Staff and parents are giving leaders their full support to make sure that pupils have a good education.

  • Pupils’ attitudes to learning are strong and their behaviour, both in class and around the school, is exemplary. They are quick to act on the good advice given by their teachers in order to strengthen their work, and are highly supportive of each other’s learning.

(OFSTED May 2017)

We have wonderful children who are eager to learn and a community who are respectful of our school and work with us to provide children with the best possible start to life. Applicants are invited to state their particular areas of curriculum strength.

Our school is well placed for applicants from across West Yorkshire, we are situated very close to Junction 27 of the M62, close to Birstall retail park.
