Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred is a thriving, diverse, friendly three-form entry academy in the diverse community of Chafford Hundred, near Lakeside, Thurrock. We are a large primary school with over 650 pupils on roll. It is a three form entry school with a 52 place nursery. The school was graded as Good by Ofsted in May 2014, having moved from Requires Improvement, and is now on the pathway to securing outstanding provision for all pupils.  

We are looking to appoint inspiring and dynamic class teachers for September 2017, with opportunities available in all key stages. Please state your area of expertise in your supporting statement.

We can be flexible for the right candidate and therefore welcome applications from teachers at every stage of their careers - whether that’s one year or ten years!

For experienced teachers, there are opportunities to develop as middle leaders, while for NQTs, we provide our highly successful Harris Federation NQT programme where you will train alongside other NQTs from across the Federation. This enables aspiring teachers to support and learn from each other, in the true collaborative spirit of Harris. There is a structure of support and challenge with customised professional learning, and every NQT has a professional mentor.

Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred is a three-form entry Academy located in the heart of Chafford Hundred, which is a modern development bordering Lakeside, Thurrock and serving a vibrant and diverse community. Chafford Hundred has good links to central London as well as being accessible from Kent and Essex.

Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred is a good school with high educational standards. Our children’s academic progress is regularly monitored to ensure they are all doing as well as they possibly can. The children also take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including a five-day residential visit for Year 6 pupils. Parents are very involved in school life, through our PTA, through homework projects, and through Reading and Maths Volunteers.
