New Close Primary School is looking to appoint a dedicated and inspiring KS2 Class Teacher to join its amazing team of staff on a fixed term contract, with effect from September 2024. This is a wonderful opportunity for an ECT or experienced teacher looking to join a school committed to helping every pupil to flourish.

Contract: Fixed term (until 31st August 2025). Salary: MPS/UPS (£30,000 - £46,525). Other: QTS is essential for this role.

We are a caring and inclusive non-denominational, school, situated in the garrison town of Warminster, Wiltshire. We are at the heart of our local community and pride ourselves on getting to know each of our pupils, and their families/carers, so that we can provide them with the support they need and help them to develop as individuals. Our nurturing team are committed to providing the best possible education for all of our pupils, while our strong values system helps contribute to the positive and calm atmosphere found in every classroom. We are looking for someone who:  

  • Is committed to becoming a truly excellent teacher;
  • Can teach a broad range of engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and improve student attainment;
  • Can plan and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and students make superior progress;
  • Is able to raise attainment and challenge students to achieve their best;
  • Has a commitment to extra-curricular activities;
  • Is aware of current initiatives in KS2;
  • Is an effective team member who can contribute positively to the work in our KS2 class, and the school;
  • Has a positive, cheerful outlook with a good sense of humour;
  • Is able to forge good relationships with students and staff;
  • Is able to work hard and remain calm under pressure;
  • Has a desire to work within the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) structure.

New Close Primary School is a caring and inclusive non-denominational, single form entry primary school, educating children between the ages of 5 and 11 years. Situated in the garrison town of Warminster, Wiltshire, we are at the heart of our local community and pride ourselves on getting to know each of our pupils, and their families/carers, so that we can provide them with the support they need. 

Our enthusiastic and nurturing team of staff and governors are committed to providing the best possible education for all of our pupils and helping them to develop as individuals. We have a very strong values system across the school, which has contributed to the positive and calm atmosphere found in every classroom.

In November 2017 we joined Acorn Education Trust and, with their support, transformed our learning environments, classrooms and curriculum. We are very proud that, as a result of this extensive work, New Close was graded as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in our March 2022 inspection. We continue to work closely with other schools within the Trust and the central team to draw on collective experience to grow and flourish.

Our well-resourced school has a wide range of excellent facilities, including:

  • Forest school provision for every class, each week;
  • A well-resourced and exciting nursery/EYFS facility;
