Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and highly motivated experienced teacher or NQT to join our enthusiastic team. This role is a tremendous opportunity for a dedicated and ambitious individual looking for a new challenging and rewarding role to start in September 2019.

The Hayes is a happy, fun and dynamic primary school with high expectations of its pupils. We are a larger than average-sized school with a capacity of 420 pupils situated in Kenley. We have a large school field, large hall, ICT suite and swimming pool. We have a strong tradition in sport and the arts. We are a two-form entry primary (EYFS – Year 6), with delightful and well-behaved children. We pride ourselves in our caring ethos with children at the heart of all we do. We are a popular school, and have a waiting list for most year groups.

The Hayes is a Good school, as confirmed by our recent Ofsted short inspection (January 2018). The inspector cited that: "Your diverse curriculum broadens children’s minds and helps them to think critically about the world. Pupils talk enthusiastically about their learning and are well motivated to do their best; they work hard with positive attitudes. Behaviour in lessons and around the school is very good. Pupils respect each other and collaborate well. They are kind and caring towards adults, visitors and each other”.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is embedded across everything we do at The Hayes Primary, including all stages of our recruitment and selection process. The successful candidate will require enhanced DBS clearance.

If you would like to apply for this class teacher position, please email your application form and supporting statement to: Claire Slade at: head@hayesprimary.croydon.sch.uk by 21st May 2019.

About The Hayes Primary School

We are a warm and vibrant school at the heart of our community and are proud of the education we offer our children and our successes. We believe passionately that a great education is one of the most precious gifts a child can receive. We want our children to enjoy their learning and we achieve this in an environment which fosters the fundamental values including respect, responsibility, empathy, positivity, self-belief, co-operation and tolerance.

Underpinning all we do is a belief that every moment a child is in school must be used effectively. If time is wasted it is lost forever and cannot be given back, therefore, our structures and policies are designed to maximise learning potential spent in school. Our excellent staff team are committed to ensuring the highest expectations for each and every child and this is supported through nurturing a love of learning, encouraging independent thinking, making experiences creative, varied and inclusive and developing skills for life. Although raising standards remains our main objective, we also have great provision and an excellent reputation for sport and the performing arts.

We aim to make learning at The Hayes irresistible.

Children have just one childhood; we believe their primary school experience should be magical, filled with inspirational and unforgettable learning experiences. At The Hayes, we know it is both our duty and pleasure to help our children delight in their precious childhood years, building a firm foundation for the next stage in their education and the rest of their lives. Our ultimate role is to help them blossom and grow, to believe in themselves and that anything is possible.

We believe education is a partnership between home and school and we want to build a long and rewarding relationship with you, in order that your son or daughter may achieve their best and be happy. A warm welcome awaits you at The Hayes and we hope you enjoy exploring this website: it is a window on the wonderful things that go on here.
