Job overview

We are looking for an outstanding teacher to join our dedicated and hard-working team at The Chadderton Preparatory Grammar School in Oldham, Manchester.  You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a high level of commitment, drive and passion for the education and welfare of school children.

About Us:

The Chadderton is a family-based, co-educational preparatory school with an outstanding reputation.  The school places the careful nurturing and rounded education of the children in our care at its core.  We encourage impressive results from happy children and will always remain true to this philosophy whilst striving to constantly improve what we deliver. Each year in July, we bid farewell to confident, polite and impressive Year Six children as they complete their time at The Chadderton and head towards success in a variety of senior schools.

What We’re Looking For:

You will help drive our school into the future, promoting our caring ethos and outstanding results by discovering the right way for each child in your care to reach their potential.

Be it NQT or seasoned practitioner, the key quality we are searching for is the ‘wow factor’ in the classroom – can you grab the attention of the whole class and keep it whilst delivering outstanding teaching to each child?  Are you prepared to think carefully about how to enhance your lessons, your classroom, and your pastoral care?  Do you have the passion to ‘roll-up your sleeves’ and ‘get stuck-in’ to every aspect of our school?  If you can honestly answer ‘yes’ to these questions, we’d like to meet you.

Candidate:

  • Truly exceptional class teacher
  • Passion for the teaching and broader education of primary school children.
  • Commitment to achieving exceptional results for every child in the school.
  • Ambition and vision for developing our already excellent school.
  • Able to motivate and develop a class of learners.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of schools and commitment outside the classroom.

About The Chadderton Preparatory Grammar School

At The Chadderton Preparatory Grammar our aim is to inspire and challenge children to love learning. We pride ourselves on our child-centred approach to teaching and learning, celebrating the individual talents and personalities of every child. We believe that school should be a fun, exciting place where children can learn in a secure environment and be willing to take risks when trying out new ways of learning. How children learn is as important to us as what they learn.

We are a friendly and family orientated school, where partnerships between parents are actively encouraged and fostered through our open door policy. The unique relationship between children, teachers and support staff is one of our key strengths and, as a result, children thrive and progress in our environment.

Our small class sizes mean that we can treat every child as an individual. The excellent ratio of staff to children ensures a high level of support so that children quickly build up strong literacy and numeracy skills. Innovative and enthusiastic teachers are pivotal to our success and lie at the heart of our learning community, providing the framework for your child’s educational, cultural and social development.

We are a Preparatory Grammar School, meaning that our approach is centred upon delivering a grammar school education to primary aged children. Because of this a sustained emphasis is placed throughout the school on the breadth and balance of the education we provide, ensuring that children enjoy their learning.

Children will leave The Chadderton Preparatory Grammar as happy and confident individuals, with the skills required to be independent learners, well-prepared for their next stage in learning.
