Job overview

About Us

Our state-of-the-art academy opened in 2013 as a new two-form entry primary academy serving Oakley Vale in Corby. We are proud of our very friendly and welcoming team of staff, and in July 2015, we were judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted who commented on the strong leadership and quality of teaching.

About the Role

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate strong management and leadership skills in order to help secure improved standards across a designated phase, which will be for either middle (years 2, 3, 4) or upper phase (years 5, 6).

About You

We are looking to recruit someone who has a proven track record as a good or outstanding Teacher and can demonstrate the ability to play a leading role in Phase development and school improvement.

With first-class communication skills, you will need to be a team player, a good leader and most importantly be passionate about helping all children succeed despite their differing starting points. It’s a unique challenge that’s not for everyone, but if you’re passionate about really making a difference to our young people’s lives, we can promise you’ll find it life-changing.

In Return

Being part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) means you can be assured that you will be contributing to our mission to enable every child to achieve their best. All our academies work collaboratively to share best practice and are supported by the expertise within the central team to enable them to focus on teaching and learning. As a GAT employee, you will receive excellent opportunities for career progression and access to bespoke CPD from the Learning Alliance to enhance your professional growth.

You’ll be working in a great part of the country, as well as within a great organisation. The thriving town of Corby offers excellent transport links and affordable housing.

Northamptonshire is one of the UK’s fastest growing counties; it is highly favoured by those wanting to strike a good balance between living and making a living.

Visits to the academy are warmly welcomed; please contact the school office on: 01536 430510 or email: admin@corbyprimaryacademy.org to arrange a tour of the Academy from the Principal, Mrs Nikki Lamond.

Find out more about us by visiting: www.corbyprimaryacademy.org. To apply, please visit: www.greenwoodacademies.org/vacancy/11633/

Closing date: Noon on 21st March 2017.

Interview date: w/c 27 March 2017.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks, therefore, all posts within the Trust are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. The Trust welcomes applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, age or sexual orientation.
