Westville House School is seeking to appoint a class teacher of Key Stage 2, from September 2023.
Westville House School is a successful independent co-educational day school and nursery for pupils aged 2 to 11 years situated in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The school prides itself on its ethos of developing confident, lifelong learners and is committed to ensuring that each child is supported and valued. Pupils leave Westville House School achieving excellent results, allowing them to move onto the senior schools of their choice in Yorkshire and beyond.
The role
The Class Teacher will continue to build upon Westville House School’s many strengths, enhancing its provision and positioning Westville House as the school of choice in the Wharfe Valley and beyond. They will plan rich and stimulating learning activities that achieve good progression in pupils’ understanding and ensure effective teaching of the whole class, and of groups and individuals within the whole class setting, so that learning objectives are met and pupils’ learning time is used efficiently. They will also work with the Head in administrative tasks, appointment, allocation and development of staff to make the most effective use of skills, expertise and experience.
The ideal candidate
The successful candidate is expected to be a qualified teacher, with the necessary educational, academic and organisational experience required to manage a KS2 class on a on a day to day basis and also drive the education of children. Good communication skills, both written and oral are essential.
