Sidegate is a vibrant, three-form entry primary school in the north of Ipswich. The school hosts a 25 place Specialist Support Centre for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, giving approximately 655 pupils on roll. The school boasts large grounds, an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and excellent ICT provision. We pride ourselves in the broad and engaging curriculum we offer our pupils; sport, arts and culture feature highly and are used to enhance the curriculum in all areas. The curriculum is very well resourced. There are opportunities for all teachers to lead a subject or be part of a subject leadership team.
The school received a “Good” Ofsted rating in April 2017.
Sidegate became an academy in May 2014 with The Active Learning Trust (ALT). ALT prides itself in allowing each of their schools to develop a curriculum that meets the needs of the pupils in the school. They work closely with the school, providing specialist advisory support as necessary and offering excellent middle and senior-leadership development. We work closely with other schools in the ALT Ipswich Hub and the Northgate Pyramid of Schools.
We have a 0.5 FTE class teacher vacancy in Year R from September. The successful applicant will be required to work two days each week, plus every other Wednesday.

Sidegate is a three-form entry primary school located in the north of Ipswich, Suffolk. The school has an admission number of 90 children per year group. Children start school in the academic year (1st September to 31st August) in which they are 5 years old. This is called the "Reception Year". They remain at primary school for 7 years, finishing in the academic year in which they are 11 years old.
The school also has 25 places for children of primary age with complex learning difficulties in two Specialist Support Classes.
