More than a century after the first pupils walked through the school’s doors in 1895, Henry Cavendish Primary School continues to provide an outstanding education to the children of the area, across two sites - Hydethorpe Road in Balham and Dingley Lane, Streatham. There are four forms in every year group, from Reception to Year 6, and 3 nursery classes. Our current school roll is 925 pupils.

Henry Cavendish prides itself on delivering creative learning opportunities, which allow our children to take an active part in their own education. We build on their strengths to ensure that each and every child is successful and that they are supported both academically and socially.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection praises the curriculum for being ‘exciting and stimulating’, the children’s behaviour as ‘exemplary’ and the singing in assembly as ‘delightful’.
