Job overview

Temporary for one year in the first instance

Middlestown Primary Academy are seeking to appoint a talented and creative teacher to add to our team.

The successful candidate should be hard working with the ability to work effectively in collaboration with other colleagues. You will need to demonstrate consistently good or better teaching, motivate and inspire pupils whilst setting high expectations. We would encourage the successful candidate to play an active role in the wider part of the school where they will be supported by a team of friendly staff and lovely children.

At Middlestown Primary Academy, we strive to create an environment where pupils enjoy learning and are given the opportunity to stretch themselves both academically and through a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Our success is founded on traditional values set in a warm, friendly environment.

Applications are welcomed from teachers across the experience range: we offer an extensive programme of academy and Trust CPD, to help you grow and develop as an excellent practitioner - whether an Early Career Teacher or more experienced.

The designated year group allocated for September will be determined on appointment so we welcome applications relative to Year 1 through to Year 6.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is a Wakefield based Trust; all four academies in the Trust are closely located to one another which lends itself to many opportunities to work closely and collaboratively. All academies are within a three-mile radius of one another and can be found a short drive off junction 40 of the M1.

We encourage interested candidates to get in touch and have a discussion to see what makes us great!

Visits to the academy are strongly encouraged and warmly welcomed. Please contact the academy on admin@middlestown.accordmat.org and HR at hr@accordmat.org to arrange a visit at one of the following times:

• Tuesday 7th June 10-11am

• Wednesday 8th June 2-3pm

• Thursday 9th June 9-10am

• Thursday 9th June 3:30 – 4:15pm

For more details, or if you’re ready to apply, visit: https://middlestown.accordmat.org/recruitment/ where you will find the application form available to download. Please return completed application forms to the Accord HR Department: hr@accordmat.org

The closing date for applications is Friday 10th June 2022 at 9am.

Interviews are expected to be held on Wednesday 15th June 2022.

Middlestown Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Middlestown Primary Academy is a mixed nursery, infant and junior academy, situated in a rural village close to Wakefield, and set within expansive grounds.

The academy has a broad, balanced and creative curriculum which aims to ensure that children are engaged in their learning and above all enjoy coming to school. It benefits from enthusiastic, caring and professional staff who work hard to ensure this happens.

The academy wants every child to reach their potential, with a lifelong love of learning, offering pupils, not only new skills, knowledge and understanding, but also key learning attributes that will enable them to succeed as they begin their path in life.

Being at the heart of the community and enjoying good support from all stakeholders, it understands that partnership is an important aspect to the ongoing development of schools and academies. With this in mind, it works alongside Ossett Academy & Accord Sixth Form, Horbury Academy and Horbury Primary Academy as part of the Accord Multi Academy Trust.

The vision of this partnership is to enhance both practice and knowledge of learning across primary and secondary education, whilst also providing access for pupils and staff to an even better range of opportunities in order to achieve excellence.

Headteacher: Mrs H Young
