We are looking to recruit an outstanding Year 1 Class Teacher, who oozes confidence in the classroom and possesses a flexible, ’can do’ attitude, to join our team.  This is a one year contract to cover a period of staff secondment.  

We would welcome applicants who are creative, energetic and who have a willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular live of the School.  


The main duties and responsibilities of the job will include:

• To plan, prepare and deliver high quality, differentiated lessons across the curriculum in line with the School’s schemes of work

• To assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils

• To use assessment to evaluate and improve teaching and the learning & attainment of pupils

Experience working with boys at KS1

• An excellent understanding of the developmental needs of boys in this year group

• High expectations of themselves and their pupils

• A willingness to become fully involved in the life of the School and be a great team player

This long-established and well-known preparatory school educates boys aged 3 to 13 (girls 3 to 4), preparing them for entrance and scholarship examinations to independent London day schools and boarding schools across the country. Re-branded in 2011, the school aims to challenge boys in their pursuit of excellence and to inspire each pupil to realise his full potential. Sport, Music and Art are encouraged to a high standard. There are many out-of-school activities, including a wide variety of holiday trips.

The main ages for entry are at three, four and seven years, with smaller entries at five and eight. There are occasional vacancies at other ages.
