Experienced KS1 Class Teacher

Canterbury School offers a British education across all Key Stages and a high level of education in the Spanish system. This enables our students to access the University of their choice at the end of their school career. The school is housed over four sites and caters for children from the age of 2-18.

This post is for our Primary school in Maspalomas where we have children from 3-11 years of age. From here, children then feed into our Secondary school in Las Palmas. The school is in a beautiful, rural location but very close to the beaches and tourist resorts in the south of Gran Canaria. The class is small, with fifteen Y1/Y2 pupils and there is a nurturing, family atmosphere in the school. The position is to cover leave of absence from after the Easter holiday (8th April) until probably the end of the school year.

Canterbury School is a member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain.

Candidates must be first language ENGLISH SPEAKERS and have: 

• QTS 
• At least two years teaching experience 
• EU citizenship or British citizenship with the right to work in Spain

Applicants should:

• Have recent and successful experience of teaching the KS1 curriculum. 
• Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour in all children.

• Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a year group team.

Experience of teaching Talk for Writing is desirable but not essential.

Salary is paid according to Spanish pay scale and position.
