Job overview

Horsmonden Primary School is a small rural school serving 190 children from the village of Horsmonden and surrounding areas. Being a small school means we are able to develop excellent relationships with the children and their families. We use their interests and hobbies to plan creative, inspiring lessons to ensure every child makes progress, loves learning and displays the following three values in their work: quality, quantity and perseverance.

For September we are looking to recruit an excellent teacher to teach Year 3. A creative and passionate teacher who strives for excellence in all areas will thrive in our environment. You will have high expectations of all children and work closely with the teaching team to provide creative, meaningful learning experiences for the children. This post would suit both NQTs and experienced teachers and is full time for one year, with a view to extending beyond this for the right candidate.

Working with Leigh Academies Trust: Horsmonden Primary School and Leigh Academies Trust are in the final stages of confirming a partnership opportunity which could come into effect from September 2019.  In the meantime, we will be working collaboratively on recruitment to ensure we secure the very best talent for the benefit of our students.  Click here to read more about the proposed partnership.   If you're as excited by this opportunity as we are and are keen to join a collaborative and successful Trust, we’d very much like to hear from you.

Diversity at our core:  As a Trust we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals we all bring something unique to the role regardless of age, gender, race, beliefs or disabilities which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise.  All roles within the Trust are subject to an Enhanced DBS check in addition to other pre-employment checks.

Here at Horsmonden Primary Academy, our aim is to encourage lifelong learning and develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring individuals that understand the world around them while demonstrating respect. It is important to us all that Horsmonden children are prepared for life outside Horsmonden and that journey starts the minute they walk through our doors.

Our curriculum is framed by the Primary Years Programme, from the International Baccalaureate and we strongly believe in the 10 learner profile attributes. They represent the capacities and responsibilities for intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth. Together, staff and children are inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.
