St Paul’s Juniors, founded in 1881, is the preparatory school for St Paul’s. It adjoins St Paul’s School, and shares many facilities with the senior school, including the dining hall, sports complex, technology workshops and playing fields. CLASSROOM ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)

Commencing Autumn Term 2019

Wednesday - Friday, Term time only

We are looking for an experienced classroom assistant to work with bright, enthusiastic boys aged seven to nine. This is a busy, varied role working with teachers and boys across seven forms. The CA will help teachers in some lessons within the classroom, and at other times take small groups of boys requiring some extra support, generally in English and Maths. Outside lessons, the CA will assist with supervision of pupils and accompany educational visits from time to time. Another aspect of the role is to prepare resources, create displays in and around the boys’ classrooms and to assist with general department administration. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for outdoor learning, who will be willing to assist with the delivery of Forest School lessons.

Salary: £12,000pa

St Paul’s Juniors attracts bright, enthusiastic boys who are inquisitive and eager to learn. Boys may join at 7+, 8+ and 11+. St Paul’s Juniors shares facilities and expertise with the senior part of the school, and offers a secure and nurturing environment in which to develop and grow.

Pupils joining the school in Years 3 and 4 have their own dedicated classrooms where the majority of their lessons are taught by form tutors. Two classroom assistants are available to support the youngest age groups.

Pupils visit dedicated teaching spaces for science, sport and the arts, using the superb on-site facilities such as the science labs, music school, Store 81 (the drama studio), sports hall, swimming pool and dojo.

At the start of Year 5, lessons move to a senior school model with pupils benefiting from teaching by subject specialists in all areas of the curriculum.

Pupils at St Paul’s Juniors hold a place at the senior school and transfer at the end of Year 8, subject to good work and conduct.
