We are seeking a suitably qualified School Officer to assist students in the classroom across all year levels. In this role, you will provide general classroom support, using technology to support learning activities and literacy/numeracy intervention one on one or in small groups under the guidance of the Support Teacher Inclusive Education. Previous experience and/or a Certificate 3 in Educational Support would be favourable. This position involves working with children. The appointment of a successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.


St Joseph's School is a Catholic co-educational primary school, with an enrolment of 378 students. Founded in 1938 by the Franciscan Sisters, our school permeates the values of ‘Humility, Care, Respect’ as our motto is lived authentically. To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • currently hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:
  Commencing 24 August 2020

Position Tenure:   Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   to 4 December 2020

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   20 hours per week - required to work on Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day.

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   School Officer Level 2 - $27.43 per hour

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019
