Job overview

Do you want to make a difference to children’s lives?

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and flexible people with a positive and proactive approach to grow our team. The Castle school meets the individual needs of 175 students between 4 and 19 years, all of whom have special educational needs.

You will be working with students 1 to 1 and in small groups to enable their access to learning. You will work in both our indoor and outdoor classrooms to support the pupils’ learning as directed by the class teacher. You will also be required to assist with the pupil’s personal needs. The ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff is essential.

We are committed to supporting and developing our staff to reach their full potential and provide a variety of training and development opportunities. You will be joining a team of experienced people dedicated to helping our children. The post will give you the opportunity to work in a dynamic and thriving school community where you can make a tangible difference.

We would consider two people job sharing this role. This would mean each person would work 4 hours per day either 0900-1300 or 1100-1500, 5 days per week. If you are interested in a job share position please state this on your application form.

We welcome pre-arranged visits to the school. Please contact Cassy Clark on 01635 42976 or email hr@castle.w-berks.sch.uk if you would like to arrange a visit.

Further information about the school and an application pack can be found on the school website at www.thecastleschoolnewbury.org.uk

Closing date: 29 January 2023 • Interviews: w/c 6 February 2023
