Classroom Support staff – New Oaks 

Oaklands is an outstanding special school serving the London Borough of Hounslow that provides specialist education to students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties and autism. We have a Primary school (New Oaks) and a Secondary school (High Oaks). We are based across two different sites with both our school buildings offering state of the art facilities for our students.  

Due to our continued expansion, we are looking for enthusiastic Classroom Support Assistants to join the primary school, working with students that have PMLD, Autism, and Complex Needs. As well as being calm and patient, you will need good team working skills and be passionate about supporting students with special educational needs. Applicants must be physically fit and willing to undertake all aspects of personal care including toileting and feeding. We believe that all of our students are capable of making outstanding progress and we want to appoint individuals who share this belief. Please note that an Apprenticeship scheme is also available for those who do not have the qualification or experience and would like to work at Oaklands.

Pay Scale:              Hounslow Scale 4 - 5 (points 7-15) Depending on qualifications and experience                           

Actual Salary:         £19,139 to £22,005 per annum                  

Contract Type:      Permanent, term time only (39 weeks)                  

Hours of work:      8.45am to 3.15pm (Monday to Thursday) 8.45am to 3.30pm (Fridays)

An additional hour will also be worked on one set day after soon to support a curriculum team   (31¼ hours per week in total)  

The successful candidates will be required to attend a pre-employment induction before commencing employment
