Job overview
The Brook Special Primary School opened in 2011 as a merger of two existing special schools. We share a learning community with the Willow Primary School (although we are separate schools) and have been Federated since September 2014. This is such an exciting place to work and almost unique in its inclusive way of working with a mainstream primary school. Our children have a wide range of complex needs and live together with the mainstream children in a truly aspirational learning environment.
The Governors are looking for highly skilled and enthusiastic practitioners for children with Autism in Key Stages 1 and 2. They are also delighted to let you know that the school received an Outstanding Ofsted Report in March 2015; International Award 2015; has the Artsmark Gold Award 2014 and LPPA 2014.
The successful candidate will:
- Be (or about to be!) an outstanding ASD classroom practitioner with the interpersonal skills to manage a large class team and to work collaboratively with multi agency staff; the mainstream primary school and parents/carers.
- Have a clear focus on achievement, progress and improving outcomes for ASD students and what allows these children to progress.
- Be committed to inclusion and to enabling all pupils to succeed in all areas of their educational experiences in school and out in the wider community
The Brook is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Successful applicants will be required to undertake criminal record checks via the DBS and to complete the Disqualification by Association checks.
Application forms and further details are available from Premila Seecharam PA to the Senior Team on premila.seecharam@thebrook.haringey.sch.uk or on Tel: 020 8808-7120 Fax: 020 8885-2719

Visits to the school are highly recommended as this is such a unique setting.
