This is an incredibly exciting time to join the Compass School on its journey of development. After years of being recognised by our local community as invaluable in supporting, nurturing and improving outcomes for our young people we are now taking the next steps to broadening and improving the impact we have on an even wider community.
To help shape and deliver our growing curriculum we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Secondary Teacher starting from January 2022. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering a range of subjects as well as supporting in the development of learning experiences and qualifications that meet the evolving needs of our cohort.
You will need to be committed to achieving excellence and ensuring every child makes progress from their starting point. You will be a positive and passionate advocate of every young person you meet and tenacious in your drive to secure the best possible outcomes for our pupils. You will bring learning to life and use engaging activities to support students to enjoy their learning and ultimately develop skills and knowledge to prepare them for the next chapter in their life.
We are a pupil referral unit based in Southampton, and are relentless in the work we do with pupils who have experienced barriers to accessing their education. You should be able to articulate an understanding of our pupils and clearly demonstrate your effectiveness as a responsive teacher, including how you deliver learning that is exciting and innovative while also sensitive to the needs of our pupils. Clarity on interventions that may benefit pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs is essential.
We strongly encourage you to visit our school and if you would like to see us prior to submitting an application please contact Maria Hughes to arrange a visit. Alternatively, if you wish to have an informal discussion with Dean Prodomo, Deputy Headteacher this can also be arranged. Please contact us on 02380 215320 or by email on info@compass-school.net
