CLASSROOM TEACHER
FULL TIME

We are seeking an outstanding Classroom Teacher with proven Early Years experience (Pre-Reception to Year 2) Who can support the development and learning of children in a caring and creative way.

We are looking for a teacher who strikes an excellent balance in their classroom between adult-led and child-initiated learning and someone who has a deep understanding of what it means to learn through play.

Main responsibilities:

  • Plan for learning, deliver lessons and learning experiences, evaluate and document.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and develop the most effective child-centred teaching and learning strategies.
  • Ascertain the holistic and specific learning needs of the students based on effective and ongoing evaluation of the child.
  • Willingness to contribute to the whole school and wider community.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to continued professional development.

Professional experience required:

  • Internationally recognised teaching certification (with specialisation in Early Years or Primary) with at least three years of full teaching responsibilities.
  • Have training and experience in the IB Primary Years Programme
  • Have experience of working in an international school and/or multicultural environment.

Personal attributes required:

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills;
  • Have training and experience in the IB Primary Years Programme
  • Enthusiasm, creativity and drive: have a passion for teaching and learning with a drive to achieve the highest possible standards;
  • Be able to manage resources efficiently so that teaching and learning is effectively supported;
  • Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people;
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues and parents.

About International School of Geneva - Campus des Nations

The International School of Geneva is a mainstream, all-through, co-educational, independent, non-denominational school for children aged 3-18. It is situated across three campuses in and around Geneva in Switzerland. There are over 2000 students across the campuses.

The school was founded in 1924 with just 8 students and a rabbit. It was founded by local educators and officials of the League of Nations and ILD to provide an international education based on the programme of educational principles of the education nouvelle movement.

It is the oldest and largest functional international school in the world.

It has a bilingual foundation and it encourages students to master French as well as English. The school offers a range a qualifications including The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, International Baccalaureate Programme, Maturité Suisse, IGCSE and High School Diplomas.

There are three campuses, one in central Geneva, one in La Chataignerine in Founex just 20 minutes outside of Geneva and the third is in Geneva’s International quarter. Each campus welcomes students aged 3-18 and they share the same values and objectives.
