Classroom Teaching Assistant opportunity - 


Thank you for your interest in this position. 


As highlighted in the advertisement, the Governors wish to appoint a number of dedicated, experienced, confident and proficient Teaching Assistants to join the talented, committed and supportive staff team at this ambitious and successful special school.  The posts will form part of a team of Teaching Assistants assigned across the school and including Post-16. In carrying out their duties and responsibilities effectively the teaching assistants will provide focused support for pupils, teachers, the curriculum and the school.

This is an exciting time to join Alderman Knight School. The school is a specialist school in Communication and Interaction and achieved an Outstanding OfSTED in January 2019 (our last inspection). The school has undergone a major building project 5 years ago and, as a result, we have an amazing learning and working environment. More recently, a new state-of-the-art Post-16 Centre has been built to accommodate our Key Stage 5 students.


There are currently over 160 pupils aged between 5 and 19 years in school. The majority of children have moderate and additional complex learning needs. This includes children with Autism, social communication, emotional and speech and language needs. A small minority have more severe learning difficulties. 


The closing date for application forms is Tuesday 23rd April 2019. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 30th April 2019.
