Job/Person Summary  KS2 Class Teacher (Full Time Temporary 1st January 2019 to 31st August 2019)  

We have a vacancy for a class teacher in KS2 working with a Year 3 and 4 class.   We are a popular primary school in the Oxfordshire town of Carterton, close to RAF Brize Norton. Visitors to our school often comment on the calm and friendly atmosphere, and our children are happy and enjoy their learning.  As a school we have worked really hard over the past few years to build a strong and committed team with the capacity to improve the outcomes for our pupils.  Last year we became an academy as part of The River Learning Trust.  We feel very strongly that our school team, along with the wider family of the River Learning Trust, is what makes our school successful.  

The River Learning Trust principles are: • Commitment to Excellence: we have high expectations in all that we do • Everyone Learning: there is a culture of Professional Learning for all staff, as well as ensuring the very best Teaching and Learning for our pupils • Respectful Relationships: we treat each other with respect and we care about everyone in our school community 

Our Teaching and Learning Policy (created and developed by staff) has a focus of whole class ‘Teaching to the Top’, with an emphasis on high expectations, knowing our children well, excellent teacher subject knowledge and targetted, effective questioning.  The school’s Core Values of ‘well-being’, ‘aspiration’ and ‘resilience’ underpin this policy and form the basis of our school ethos.

Our School

Welcome to Edith Moorhouse Primary School

We are a popular primary school in the Oxfordshire town of Carterton. We currently have just about 300 pupils, with about one third of those pupils coming from Service Families with one or more parent serving at RAF Brize Norton.

In April 2017 we converted to academy status as part of the River Learning Trust.

We are proud of our caring and nurturing approach to education and our school ethos is based on our Core Values. Visitors to our school comment that there is a calm and industrious atmosphere and that the children are polite and respectful. All pupils, staff, parents, governors and members of our local community feel listened to and contribute to our strong school community.

As a school, we continually strive towards reaching our goals and try to be the very best we can. We aim for high standards in all that we do and we adhere to the three River Learning Trust principles:
