Do you have professional cleaning experience either with an office or school environment? We are currently looking to appoint a cleaner to join our dedicated maintenance and premises team. 

The hours for this role will be 11.30am to 2.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Job Purpose: To carry out cleaning in allocated area.

Reporting to: Premises Manager / Premises Officers

Liaising with: Premises Staff, Director of Resources, Reception staff and other relevant Academy staff.

Operational/Strategic Planning 

  • Cleaning of parts of the academy as allocated, including classrooms, offices, corridors, stairs and toilets 
  • Vacuuming, wiping, dusting and mopping 
  • Cleaning toilets, basins, tiling, glass areas 
  • Emptying bins in allocated area 
  • Disposing of waste as instructed 
  • Machine cleaning as appropriate 
  • Safe storage and use of materials

Other Services 

  • To comply with Health & Safety regulations and guidelines, and undergo training as required 
  • To report issues and Health & Safety issues to manager 
  • To check closed windows doors and turn off lights 
  • General Requirements

  • Ability to work as team player  
  • Physically able to undertake necessary tasks 
  • Ideally, experience of working in a school

School summary

Harris Academy Falconwood is an 11-18 co-educational academy for 1,100 students. The academy opened in September 2008 on the site of the predecessor school. Harris Falconwood benefits from a brand new, state of the art £25 million building offering the very latest facilities and equipment. Ofsted judged the academy to be Outstanding at both its inspections in 2011 and 2014.
