This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.
In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based HR Team.
BACKGROUND TO THE POST
As of 2016, Warwickshire College Group now have all cleaning service in house under the Estates Team umbrella. The cleaning team are there to ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the college facilities are maintained to a high Standard.
MAIN TASKS
To be part of the Estates Cleaning Team ensuring that all areas of the college facilities are maintained to a high state of cleanliness and tidiness in line with the Group cleaning specification.
The post holder will be responsible to the Cleaning Manager – Operations through the Domestic Assistant Supervisors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To clean all areas as directed to cleaning specification and secure all areas after completion of work tasks.
● Be competent in the use of electrical equipment, vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines etc.
● To clean hard floors, carpets, walls, glass, light fittings etc.
● To remove bodily fluids spillages as required.
● Wear appropriate supplied uniform PPE etc.
● Ensure personal housekeeping of cleaning equipment is keep and maintained to a high standard including collecting and emptying bins.
● Reporting any maintenance issues and carrying out replenishment of consumables.
● Liaise with the line manager on a regular basis regarding supplies and consumables and any cleaning issues.
● Undertake training on a regular basis, related to Housekeeping issues, to Include Health and Safety, Coshh, Risk Assessments, Drugs Awareness etc.
ESSENTIAL ATTAINMENTS
● Experience of cleaning/domestic work.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
● Ability to work as a part of a team.
● To be able to use own initiative and manage your area of work.
● To follow both written and verbal instructions.
● Flexible - The post holder will be required to undertake other duties as directed.
● Reliability is essential.
● Happy to work in a student environment.
● Discretion and Confidentiality is a requirement.
● Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of Equality and Diversity.
● Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
● Ability to demonstrate behaviours which support the Core Values of the College.
