St Margaret Mary's College is a Townsville Girls Catholic High School, founded as in 1963 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan. The College accepts enrolments from girls Years 7 to 12, and offers a wide variety of subjects and vocational programs. The College is also noted for its many extracurricular activities, its commitment to students with special needs and its variety of service opportunities for students.
The role of Cleaner is to bring or to maintain the premises in a clean condition. Contribute to the effective and efficient operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of cleaning of the schools’ facilities.
What we are looking for:
- Experienced Cleaner, preferably in a school environment
- Hold a current Working with Children Blue Card or be eligible to apply
- Undertake system based Child Protection Training
- Undertake Workplace Health & Safety Training
The Typical Duties of the Cleaner would be:
- Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaners, polishers and blowers
- Sweeping, mopping and buffing tiled floors
- Vacuuming carpets and mats
- Dusting desks, tables, shelves and ledges
- Picking up litter
- Emptying and washing rubbish bins
- Removing graffiti from desks, chairs and walls
- Cleaning windows, fans, fridges and stoves
- Removing cobwebs
- Cleaning toilets, sinks and basins
- Sweeping, blowing and hosing paved areas
- Locking up rooms

St Margaret Mary’s College is an all girls’ Catholic secondary school catering for students from Year 7 through to Year 12. The school is centrally located in Townsville, Queensland. There are approximately 735 students enrolled at the school.

St Margaret Mary’s College facilities include a library, textile room, chapel, computer rooms and a multipurpose sports facility.
Curriculum
Students in Year 7 to Year 10 study a broad range of subjects incorporating the nine Key Learning Areas including: Science, English, Mathematics, Business, Civics and Citizenship, Technology, Language, Religious Education and Physical Education. In Years 11 and 12 students are challenged to take responsibility for their own learning by becoming self-motivated and self-disciplined learners. The school caters for a wide range of students need, from tertiary entrance to training and vocational education. Extra-curricular activities include sports, equestrian, cross-cross country, vocal ensemble (Bella Voce), public speaking and debating, Campus Ministry and community service opportunities.
