Line Manager- Office Manager

We have a vacancy for a Clerical Assistant to cover school administration duties. The main tasks will be to meet and greet visitors, sign children in and out and be a friendly and a welcoming face to everyone using the school. You will also deal with most of the phone calls, either answering straightforward queries yourself or passing more complex issues on to the relevant person.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, good standards of literacy and numeracy and will undertake reception and general office duties as well as carrying out a wide range of administrative tasks as required. This includes dealing with enquiries from parents, carers and other stakeholders, both in person and on the telephone, receiving and distributing incoming goods, stock taking, ordering stock items and assisting the Office Manager. Experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel proficiently is an advantage for the role, as would any prior experience of SIMS.

The ability to carry out routine financial and administrative tasks, including the collection of money and the completion of records and registers in accordance with school policy is needed for the role, as is a First Aid qualification, or the willingness to undergo training in this area.

The ideal person will be cheerful, patient and accommodating; all of the office team believe that teaching and learning is at the heart of our diverse school and we are here to ensure the admin service supports the whole school. If you can cope with changing priorities and greet constant interruptions with a smile then this may be the job for you.
