We are seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Board of Governors to join us in Jan 2022.

Contract: Permanent;
Hours: A minimum of 200 hrs per annum;               
Salary information: Scale SO1, £3,792 - £3,913 per annum (dependent on experience);
Reporting and accountable to: The Governing Board of Meadow High School;
Start date: 4th January 2022.

Meadow High School is a special needs school which provides education for secondary aged students aged 11-19 years with complex and moderate learning difficulties including ASD, challenging behaviour and autism  (255 on roll) 

We are seeking to appoint a Clerk to the Board of Governors. The board has an essential role in the continuing success and development of our school and as the Clerk you will be liaising with the Chair, Governors and Headteacher in dealing with administration and advising the Board on procedural issues of governance.

You will be required to take accurate notes and produce accurate minutes for meetings (approximately 2 a month)  The post will involve some evening work and there will be times you will be required to be available during the day.  You will require excellent keyboard skills and the ability to write agendas. The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential. 

You will be is responsible for:

  • Ensuring the effective continuity of the governing board’s legal business;
  • Record management for the school;
  • Managing all governing board business in accordance with national statutory duties and legislation, academy trust guidance and protocols.

Closing Date: Monday 29th November 2021;
Shortlisting: Week commencing 29th November 2021;
Interviews: Wednesday 8th December 2021.
