The Faringdon Academy of Schools are seeking to appoint an Academy Clerk to cover
Faringdon Junior School – 6 meetings per year
Watchfield Primary School – 6 meetings per year
John Blandy Primary School, Southmoor – 12 meetings per year
FAoS Board Meetings for Safety and Facilities – 3 meeting per year
Meeting at the School, the Clerk will be responsible for:
• Providing advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, in line with Academy guidance and procedures.
• Providing effective administrative support to the governing body.
• Ensuring the governing body is properly constituted.
• Managing information effectively in accordance with legal requirements.
We are looking for a candidate/s who:
· Has experience in general clerical/ administrative and financial work.
· Can work on their own as well as part of a team.
· Has excellent IT skills.
· Can work at times convenient to the governing body, mainly evening work.
You will be required to support the agreed number of meetings per year for which you will be remunerated 8 hours per meeting to support the preparation, attendance of, and follow up.
You may wish to clerk for more than one school, please indicate this on your application form.
The appointee will report directly to the Academy Secretary.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake a DBS check and undertake safeguarding, and GDPR training as part of their job role.

About Faringdon Community College
Faringdon Community College opened under its current name in 2000, having previously been known as Tollington Secondary Modern School. Located in the town of Faringdon, Oxfordshire, the school provides a co-educational secondary education for students aged 11-18.
In 2012, the school became part of the Faringdon Academy of Schools, alongside seven others. The Faringdon Academy of Schools includes institutions at all stages of children’s education and allows providers in the local area to work more closely together.
Faringdon Community College provides for around 1,500 secondary and sixth-form students.
