The Local Governing Body of Bohunt School wish to appoint a highly organised, self-motivated and personable Clerk to join the school as soon as possible.
As the Clerk, you will work closely with the Head of School, Chairs of the Local Governing Body, the BET Director of Governance and other colleagues across Bohunt Education Trust to support the Governing Body’s work as its professional governance adviser by:
• Providing high quality administrative and organisational support to enhance the LGB’s effectiveness and efficiency
• Providing expert guidance and advice to the LGB with respect to procedures, compliance and best practice as a local Governing Body of Bohunt Education Trust
• Proactively contributing to the effective governance of Bohunt School and Bohunt Education Trust as a whole.
Hours will mostly be worked during term time and will include some evenings. The workload peaks relate to the Governing Body meetings which are scheduled well in advance for the full school year.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Chair of Governors, Head of School and the Director of Governance but will be required to work with minimum supervision. Good computer and Microsoft software package skills are essential, as is the ability to work and communicate with a variety of stakeholders. Previous governance experience in any capacity is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. You should also be interested in education and committed to the best interests of young people, as well as being able to deal with matters tactfully and confidentially.

Bohunt School is a mixed 11-18 School and Sixth Form with more than 1800 students on roll. We are the state school of choice for the local area and draw students from the surrounding region, including the counties of Surrey and West Sussex.

We are proud to serve our community by providing for its leisure, learning and social needs; our facilities are extensive and impressive and include squash courts, a floodlit artificial turf pitch and changing pavilion, a fully equipped fitness room and a sports hall.
TESLA
We are a lead school in the TESLA Teaching School Alliance which is a partnership of educators who have the highest expectations and are striving to achieve exceptional education for all by removing barriers to learning, challenging established pedagogy and raising aspirations.
