CORE Education Trust is a Birmingham based Multi Academy Trust and is proud to sponsor six schools in the City. CORE Education Trust’s mission is to provide children with a high-quality educational experience realised through a collective commitment to four CORE Values of Collaboration; Opportunity; Respect and Excellence. The Trust is led by some of Birmingham's leading educational and business leaders. The successful candidate will be joining an academy team whose sole aim is to ensure that all students get the very best support, care and guidance that enables them to achieve their very best. Please view the website to learn more about us.
The Trust is now seeking to appoint a Clerk to Local Governors. This is a new part-time role, in which you will be working closely with and offering valuable support to the Head of Governance to ensure that our school’s benefit from centralised, timely and efficient clerking support.
The role will involve clerking LGB meetings and exclusion review meetings for all six schools within the Trust. LGB meetings are normally held during the early evenings and exclusion review meetings are normally held during the daytime. This role is a part-time annualised hours position, which is predominately home based with clerking at Academies and Head office as so required. Flexibility in this regard is essential.
The post holder will be expected to attend all local governing body meetings (around 6 per school, per academic year) to take comprehensive minutes and clerk governor review panels (e.g. of exclusions and complaints). Undertaking general administration and other tasks will be required in order to ensure that the Trust provides exemplary governance support to its schools. Additional hours may be requested from time to time and additional hours that have been agreed in advance will be paid at the same hourly rate.
We are seeking an experienced clerk but will provide full training and opportunities for development for the right candidate.
Our ideal candidate will:
• Be experienced in administration and taking minutes, preferably in a school governance or corporate environment
• Be able to write clearly, accurately and concisely
• Be highly organised and efficient with a flexible approach to work, and the ability to work remotely
• Share and represent CORE Education Trust’s vision and values
If you would like to discuss the role on an informal basis or for further information please contact Becky Perkes, Head of Governance on 07341 800 093
To apply for this role please submit your application form, and any supporting documents, to: recruitment@core-education.co.uk. Only those applicants submitting a CORE Education Trust Application Form will be considered. Please note that we do not accept CV’s and Birmingham City Council application forms will not be accepted.
