We have an exciting opportunity for a candidate with strong administrative experience, ideally with previous clerking experience, to join PEAK Multi Academy Trust (MAT) as it embarks on its journey of growth. The MAT, which is expected to convert in January 2018, will initially consist of four schools: Chellaston Infant School; Chellaston Junior School; Homefields Primary School and Chellaston Academy.
Given the developmental stage of the MAT, this position gives the successful candidate the breadth to develop and implement new systems and processes to support the Trust Board going forward.
About the role:
- To act as Clerk to the Members and Board of Trustees and relevant committees, planning and organising meetings, producing and distributing agendas and minutes in a timely manner, and managing membership in line with statutory requirements, whilst also acting as lead Clerk to Governors in the MAT.
- To lead the development and implementation of MAT governance strategy and systems to ensure a highly effective Trust and school governance provision.
Estimated hours per meeting:
Preparation and circulation of agenda and papers – 1 hour
Clerking meeting – 2 hours
Finalising minutes and circulation – 3 hours
The ideal candidates will be reliable, confident, well organised, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have an interest in and ideally, experience of school governance. You will need to have strong IT and administration skills, a flexible approach and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Previous experience of minuting meetings and producing documentation is essential.
