Location: Based at Camberwell for 2 days and flexibly across all Orchard Hill College centres

An exciting opportunity has emerged at Orchard Hill College (OHC) to reshape the nursing service within a specialist College. We are seeking a committed clinician who is eager to enhance their leadership abilities, support team proficiency, and ensure greater efficiency. You will leverage your professional expertise to guide decision-making, advancing outcomes for both students and staff. This role will also involve supervising and providing advice on complex cases.

You will work as one of five Clinical Leads (including Occupational Therapy; Physiotherapy; Creative Arts Therapies and SALT) along with the Deputy Head of Integrated Services. As a result of this well-established multi-disciplinary team, you will have access to and be part of a highly supportive working environment which in turn will allow you to develop your leadership and multi-disciplinary working skills. As part of this newly established position, you will take charge of the nursing team, drive service development, and uphold clinical governance and professional standards for all college stakeholders including students and their families/carers. With professional accountability, you will offer clinical supervision in your specialised area and provide clear clinical leadership and development, aligning with the College curriculum to ensure learning experiences are tailored to support each student's growth.

We are looking for a passionate clinician who is seeking to develop their leadership skills in order to drive forward team competency, effectiveness and efficiency and have the ability to use your professional knowledge and experience to influence decision making processes in order to improve outcomes for our students and staff.

You will continue to work in conjunction with the IS team, lecturing staff, promoting good health and wellbeing in all students by contributing to the development and implementation of the College’s health care practice. You will be expected to provide a high-quality service to our students to ensure that all individuals ‘can learn and achieve.’ You will also provide a health link to our Academy schools as required.

You must have:

·        First Level Nursing qualification, and significant experience of practicing at Band 7 Level.

·        Experience of effectively leading/managing a nursing team.

·        Ability to provide clinical expertise and to manage others in the delivery of effective assessments and interventions relevant to adults with learning difficulties.

·        Ability to effectively manage a complex caseload.

·        Ability to work autonomously and as an independent practitioner.

·        Experience of mentoring/ teaching other staff including teaching staff, apprentices and student nurses

·        A desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with SEND and are committed to supporting both staff and students alike in maximising their potential within our curriculum.
