Bohunt School in Liphook, founder school of the high-achieving Bohunt Education Trust (BET), is a mixed 11 – 18 school and sixth form, with more than 2,000 students on roll. Set within the South Downs National Park, we draw students from the surrounding areas including Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. We are immensely proud of our achievements; in 2026 close to 90% achieved a grade 4 or above at GCSE, in both English and Maths and almost 40% of all the grades awarded were at the top grade: 7 to 9 level. Ofsted 2024 described a happy school community, where ‘students behave sensibly, support each other and develop exceptionally well as young people.’

We are looking for a child-centred, strategic and innovative individual with an excellent track record in school development and leadership to co-lead the Liphook school on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave.

The successful candidate will have:

● high visibility and the ability to sustain an aspirational culture within which all students are empowered to become the best version of themselves;

● experience and ambition for all as a senior leader (as a headteacher, or deputy) with commitment, drive, enthusiasm and a proven record of raising standards and improving student outcomes;

● the foresight to understand the significant benefits offered by co-headship and some of the potential challenges.

We can offer you:

● a wonderful colleague with whom to co-lead our school

● happy, curious and motivated children who enjoy learning and coming to school

● the benefits of being part of a vibrant, high-achieving multi-academy trust, which offers the support of a network of experienced colleagues across our schools, exceptional CPD opportunities and a strong community ethos

● an inspiring working environment, with dedicated and talented staff

If you wish to discuss the role further and for more information please contact Neil Strowger, Headteacher and Trust Leader, via his PA, Tessa Wright,

Bohunt School is a mixed 11-18 School and Sixth Form with more than 1900 students on roll. We are the state school of choice for the local area and draw students from the surrounding region, including the counties of Surrey and West Sussex.

In 2013 we were rated as Outstanding in all categories by Ofsted and in 2014 we were named ‘Overall School of the Year’ by the Times. Due to our heritage as a Specialist Language College our curriculum maintains a strong international flavour, including immersion language teaching in Mandarin and French. We are a busy and vibrant school with high expectations and aspirations for all members of our learning community.

Bohunt School became founder of the Bohunt Education Trust (BET) in 2014.

BET is ambitious. Beyond running its individual schools highly successfully, we aim to transform education in Britain by sharing the experiences, insights and methods we’ve pioneered in own schools.

Teach at BET

BET recognises and nurtures your skills, talents and sense of vocation. As a BET teacher, you’ll be encouraged to explore and extend your own practice, through our innovative teaching methods and partnerships with business and industry. You’ll also enjoy fantastic opportunities for professional and subject-specific training and development to enhance both the classroom experience for your students and your own career progression.

Our Vision

Bohunt's ethos of ‘enjoy, respect, achieve’ underpins our vision to give all students an outstanding education and develop skills in the classroom and beyond. These core values help our students flourish throughout their school career, and on into later life.

Enjoy: At Bohunt enjoyable learning takes place in a stimulating, vibrant environment and within a framework of high expectation.

Respect: We promote a strong sense of self-worth combined with a respect for others. Consistently high expectations are embedded within an environment that is founded on mutually respectful relationships between students, staff and parents

Achieve: We are proud of our academic success and are one of the top performing state schools in the country. Our personalised curriculum provides students with an equality of opportunity that ensures all learners achieve, whatever their interests and strengths.

Bohunt School exists to meet the educational needs of all its students. Central to our philosophy is a belief that each individual is capable of making a positive and significant contribution to society.

Sixth Form

Bohunt Sixth Form opened in September 2017 in purpose built accommodation surrounded by open countryside, a short walk away from the main school. Bohunt Sixth Form offers inspirational opportunities for those who relish intellectual challenge, and support from expert staff who know students well.

Community

We are proud to serve our community by providing for its leisure, learning and social needs; our facilities are extensive and impressive and include squash courts, a floodlit artificial turf pitch, a brand new 3G pitchn and changing pavilion, a fully equipped fitness room and a sports hall.

We are a close-knit team here at Bohunt School, all dedicated to seeing the students under our care thrive, develop and succeed. Everyone brings their own gifts, talents, personality and experience to their role, helping to sustain our rich and diverse learning culture. We take our position of trust extremely seriously, and you’ll be required to obtain Enhanced DBS check before joining our team.
