This is a fund related post initially for one year from September 2016

We are looking to appoint an experienced English teacher to co-coordinate our WISP unit. This post is based at the Westdean site of the PRU in central Wandsworth. Line Managed by Head of School Westdean.

WISP provides short stay education, in small classes, for a wide variety of secondary aged pupils who have recently moved into the area and are awaiting allocation of a place at a school. Many of these pupils have English as an Additional Language.

Whilst the main focus of the curriculum offered is English and maths, other curriculum areas are included as appropriate.

You will co-ordinate the day to day running of WISP, including:

  • Dealing with referrals of new pupils
  • Leading the assessment of new pupils
  • Liaison with education welfare and schools to facilitate smooth transition of pupils
  • Leading learning and teaching for all pupils in the unit.
