​​​​​​​An excellent opportunity for a committed individual to make a key contribution to developing the role of Co-Tutor within Livability's Nash College.

You will provide class based professional support for a lecturer and work closely with the support team based in that class to develop the personalised provision for our learners.

Nash College is part of Livability, a leading charity providing specialist day education for about 50 students aged 19 to 25 with a range of complex learning needs, physical disabilities and / or autism with associated behavioural needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed member of staff to make a key contribution to developing the role of Co-Tutor within the College. You will provide class based professional support for a lecturer and work closely with the support team based in that class to develop the personalized provision for our learners. 

  • You will have a minimum of a level 2 qualification in English, Math and ICT at a ‘pass’ level and be able to demonstrate the capacity to complete training to Level 3 Diploma in Education within two years. This may include an internal literacy and numeracy test subject to qualifications held.
  • You will be able to lead a class with lecturer support as well as provide PPA and short term absence cover for a lecturer.
  • You will have a good understanding of the needs of Nash students.
  • You will have a high level of fitness and work in conjunction with the education and pastoral teams to enable students to make continued progress in their education programmes.
  • Applicants for the above posts should be able to use a range of communication strategies and demonstrate appropriate experience for the roles. Candidates should be able to demonstrate commitment to the principles of inclusive education.

Livability Nash College is an independent specialist further education college for disabled people aged 19-25.

Based in Hayes, Bromley, the college caters for a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including physical, communication and sensory disabilities, medical conditions or autism, in addition to learning disabilities, from severe to profound.

Our approach places a particular emphasis on ‘Learning Through Living’ – personalised learning, facilitating a range of communication needs, and supporting students in the community and with future vocational opportunities. The Course title is ‘Skills for Adult Life’ and runs for three years with an optional fourth year.
